Linear Scheduling Expertise

Petroglyph is well known for the application of linear scheduling for bid submissions, detailed project planning and optimization,  progressing and reporting during execution and, providing technical expertise for claims analysis.   We frequently are hired to develop linear plans for bid submittals, or are engaged to provide on-going support during the life of the project.  Examples of our project experience include:

  • Bridge – Tappenzee, Port Mann, Churchland Bridge and many other smaller bridge and overpass projects
  • Pipeline- Keystone Phases 1 and 2,  Coastal GasLink, Mountain Valley  Mountaineer Express, TransMountain, KXL and many other liquid and gas pipelines
  • Rail – Metrolinx, Honolulu Rapid Transit, Dallas Rapid Transit, Washington Metro Transit Authority, Calgary West Expansion, Mexico City Rail, Hurontario LRT
  • Roads -I-25 ( Colorado), I-99 (Texas),  and others.
  • Power Distribution:  Gateway South, EATL, Gateway West, Wassigan
  • Others include dam rehabilitation projects in Kentucky, tunnel projects in Canada, USA and Chile, flood diversion and others

Liquid and Gas Pipeline Experience

Over the past 14 years, we have been involved in providing scheduling and project controls to a large number of pipeline projects.  Our involvement ranges from creating bid schedules, developing baseline schedules in both P6 and Tilos, project support during execution and claims analysis.  Here are some of the projects we have been involved in:

  • TransMountain Pipeline:  1150km liquid pipeline, across the Rocky Mountains, from Alberta to BC.  Petroglyph is providing on-site project controls support for a major contractor.
  • Coastal GasLink Pipeline:  670 km gas pipeline from NE BC to a new LNG facility in Kitimat, BC.  Petroglyph developed the Tilos template at the request of the owner and has on-site P6 and Tilos scheduling resources
  • Mountain Valley Pipeline: 303 mile gas pipeline from northwestern West Virginia to southern Virginia.  Petroglyph team members have been embedded in this project to provide scheduling, what-if analysis and reporting
  • Atlantic Coast Pipeline: 600 mile gas pipeline from West Virginia, through Virginia, to eastern North Carolina.  Petroglyph provided linear scheduling support to a number of contractors.
  • Qatari Gas – Development of  March chart for CO2 Pipeline
  • Keyera Kaps Project, Buckeye Express, Robb

Many other smaller pipeline projects have used our services. This includes Gulf Coast, Houston Lateral, Line 4 and others.

Facilities

Petroglyph has considerable experience providing project controls expertise on an number of facility related projects.   These projects include:

  • Biofuels Commercial Facility – This plant converts non-recyclable residual materials and forest biomass into biofuels and other biochemicals. Our scope includes Construction Project Management support, including the development of the Project Controls Plan and Procedures, Construction Execution Plan, Risk Management Plan, etc.
  • MEG Energy Christina Lake Facilities.  Petroglyph provided expert resources for Project Controls Management, Planning and Scheduling, and Risk Analysis for the development of the Steam-Assisted Gravity Drainage (SAGD) facilities, including the Central Processing Facilities and Well Pads.
  • INPEX ICHTHYS LNG Project.  Our involvement included conducting project readiness reviews at the global locations where the design, manufacturing, and construction work was being executed for the onshore and offshore facilities, as well as ongoing risk analysis support as the project was developed.
  • Suncor Firebag – Project Controls for CPF and Well Pad facilities
  • Enbridge Athabasca Oil Sands – planning & scheduling
  • Suncor UE-1 – planning & scheduling
  • Imperial Oil Cold Lake Facilities – technical
  • Shell Athabasca Oil Sands – Cost Control
  • Factory OS – developed Line of Balance schedule for optimization of assembly line operations
  • Murphy Oil – facilitated planning sessions, provided on-site scheduling and cost resources, and risk assessment workshops

Risk and Claims Experience

Petroglyph has worked on risk workshops around the globe.   We have conducted risk workshops in Australia, Japan, Malaysia, Scotland,  USA, and Canada.  These risk workshops were for LNG facilities, Oil Storage, Compressor Stations and Pipelines. Some of the risk analysis workshops we have facilitated include:

  • Devon – PIKE 1A CPS Project – Risk workshop
  • Ausenco – Risk assessment workshop for BHP Facility
  • INPEX ICHTHYS LNG Project.  Our involvement included conducting project readiness reviews at the global locations where the design, manufacturing, and construction work was being executed for the onshore and offshore facilities, as well as ongoing risk analysis support as the project was developed.
